A Personal Message from Moorea:
It's mental health month, a month and a message I advocate for and value in the deepest part of my soul. If you didn't know already, hello, I'm Moorea, the real life person who lives with depression, anxiety, and C-PTSD and is the founder of this company alongside my cousin Reed who is basically my brother. What do I care most about in the whole world? Yea, I love fashion and design, but do you know what makes me wake up in the morning when depression is sitting on my chest? Do you know what tells me to push through when a panic attack is nipping at my heels? It's people, it's family, it's you, it's the hearts and souls that I know deep down are hungry for validation and care and support and love that make me not just want to live, but to live with PURPOSE. Because if I get real vulnerable, I can tell you honestly, I too am hungry for validation, care, support, and love. I want to believe in my own resiliency, and the best way to learn something is to teach it and share it. That's why I write what I write, it's why my books truly feel like a part of my soul. I care about you, I care about you feeling safe and well within yourself, I care about you feeling safe to express the person that you truly are inside. I care about you trusting in the fact that like me, you CAN have struggles with mental and emotional health AND you can be a capable, productive, wise, kind, lovable, sincere, wonderful person. You are a "yes, AND" person. Hardships and challenges can exist at the same time as you accomplish things that you dream of while being your complex, whole, beautiful self. Mental Health Matters. You matter. and I'm her to validate that in you.

Starting today, I want to get more personal with you, because you're not just a customer, you are an individual who deserves to be seen, a person who needs to be heard, a person who deserves to be uplifted. And vulnerability is the only way we can get there. I'm here to open myself up to you, here to share my thoughts, here to truly engage and do my tiny part to make the world a little more welcoming and a little more safe for you to BE YOU.

Did you know that we donate a portion of all proceeds to non-profits? One of those non-profits is the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention which is near and dear to my heart. The AFSP believes that suicide prevention starts with everyday heroes like you, and we as a company, and I as an individual believe the same. AFSP raises awareness, funds scientific research and provides resources and aid to those affected by suicide. From bringing awareness to suicide prevention in schools to organizing walks and groups for those who have battled suicide, lost family and friends, and support the cause, the AFSP is the USA's largest organization that aids in the fight against suicide.

In 2014, One of my sisters and I walked in the AFSP Out of the Darkness Overnight Walk, walking 18 miles through the night from sunset to sunrise, through the city of Seattle to raise awareness for suicide prevention. It was one of the most profoundly moving nights of my life. And I encourage you, if you would like to take the walk in solidarity with survivors of suicide, or in honor of those passed, learn more about how you can get involved.
