Dieting is dead. Here's why.

Dear FitTracker

Fourteen days ago, we rang in the New Year

(good riddance, 2020).

We all waited until midnight hit, and then most of us did something: We silently promised to finally take our diets seriously.

And that meant we had to finally commit to keto. Or paleo. Or the Mediterranean, vegetarian, or pescatarian (that’s the one where you only eat fish instead of red meat, poultry, or pork, by the way).

The problem is, it’s not likely to help you reach your goals. In fact, 80% of New Years’ diets fail—usually after just 17 days.

Why?

Because dieting is HARD.

And it isn’t fun. Dieting doesn’t make us happy.

So 80% of people quit their diet. And the ones that don’t?

80% of THEM end up regaining weight that they lost, usually within 12 months.

The truth is: There’s a lot we can learn from different diets. There are plenty of reasons that the Mediterranean diet has reigned supreme for years in a row. For one, it’s full of variety and bright, colorful, and flavorful foods.

But the most successful diet isn’t a diet at all. It’s a lifestyle change. It starts with listening to your body and understanding how what you eat affects your health and happiness.
