The following is a list of things you should do before leaving for a long vacation:

1. Make sure the person who gets your mail knows where you’re going and has your itinerary

3. Give a friend your contact information if you’re unable to be reached, or call them to let them know you’re safe if you’re unable to be reached

4. Get your mail and newspaper

5. Leave a light on for your pet
