Where were you on September 11, 2001 when you heard the news and knew that our lives changed forever?
8:45 am American Airlines Boeing 767 hit the North Tower of the World Trade Center
9:03 am United Airlines Flight 175 hit the South Tower of the World Trade Center
9:45 am American Airlines Flight 77 hit the Pentagon
10:10 am United Flight 93 was diverted into a field in Shanksville, PA by regular people who became heroes that day.
There were 2,996 lives lost. While most people who perished in the attacks were American citizens, a total of 78 nations bowed their heads in grief that Tuesday morning. On a day when the worst side of humanity was shown we also saw the best as ordinary people become heroes. People risked their lives to lead others to safety and many of these heroes never came home. Passengers on Flight 93 rushed the cockpit to prevent the flight reaching a fourth still unknown target. This valiant display of courage by regular people saved untold numbers of lives. The First Responders suffered a loss of 412 at the scene and many have died from illnesses related to that day. There were so many acts of heroism that we could never list them all.

Please take a moment today to remember the lives lost and the survivors who lost family members, friends and co-workers on that fateful day.
