Tracking Your Workouts
If you don't measure it, you can't improve it.
Workout tracking in the Caliber app
Last time, we discussed how progressive overload is incredibly important if you're looking to build strength and muscle.
Well, in order to actually implement progressive overload, you need to be tracking your progress whenever you do one of your workouts.
This means recording the number of reps that you were able to do for each of your sets, along with the amount of weight that you lifted.
Unfortunately, this is something that the vast majority of people never do...
Instead, they'll just go through the motions, week after week, without having a clear sense of what they are trying to improve upon.
By tracking exactly what you did, you'll have a very clear focus when you work out, knowing what you should strive to beat as you do each of your sets.

This would allow both you and your coach to see how much progress you're making over time, and determine if any changes need to be made to your training program.
Once you start tracking your workouts, it's a whole lot easier to stay motivated.
Working out becomes more like a game - your mission is to beat your numbers week after week. And as you do that, you'll be surprised by how quickly you see visible changes in your body.
PUT IT INTO PRACTICE:
Whenever you do a workout, make sure to log the number of reps you did for each set, along with the amount of weight that you used. This will give you a clear basis to progress from the next time you do that workout!
