Oh Celine Dion, we have so much to learn from you *sigh*. That is how to wear a statement dress.
Batsheva participated in the CFDA design challenge and created something amazing. She was tasked with designing a look inspired by the feminist artist Judy Chicago. If you're not familiar already, Judy Chicago is well-known for creating an epic installation piece titled "The Dinner Party".
But back to the dress. A cascading layered ruffle runs down the full length of it, reminiscent of a victorian Jabot. It has slanted darts at the bust, a slight curvature at the waist, but falls straight, like a 20s shift might. It's what you wear when you want to turn heads and talk about your outfit.
Batsheva produced a super limited run of her Judy Chicago dresses, along with the matching coats. Lucky for Mona Moore, we have one of each at the store. Come try it on and feel the power of such a meaningful and masterfully designed piece. #OneFineThing.
Love,
The Monas
PS Judy has an upcoming show at the Jeffrey Deitch Gallery in LA. Hope we catch you there!
