• American Homebuyers Can Use Crypto Mortgages to Buy Homes Homebuyers can borrow up to $5M USD using USDC.homes, a new decentralized finance (DeFi) project. Currently, Texas homebuyers are the only ones able to secure a mortgage with crypto but the service plans to expand to other states in the future.
  
  
• Fidelity Pension Plan Will Allow Employees to Invest in Bitcoin - Fidelity Investments, the United States’ biggest provider of 401(k) pension plans, will let participants choose to keep money in bitcoin (BTC), but only if allowed by their employers.
  
  
• Ethereum Network Closer to Highly Anticipated Upgrade -
  Crypto watchers have their eyes on an upgrade called “the Merge” that will enable the popular Ethereum blockchain to move from the proof-of-work consensus mechanism — which uses energy-intensive specialized computers to validate transactions and secure the network — to proof-of-stake.

What Is Ben Up To?

Summer is the season to head to the beach with a good book, plenty of sunscreen, and … crypto?

CoinFlip CEO Ben Weiss spoke with NBC News about the opening of CoinFlip’s Crypto Experience Center in Tampa Bay and how this first-of-its-kind storefront brings the concept of “crypto beach” that much closer to reality. 

The center will bring more than 30 jobs to Tampa while distributing crypto innovation and education directly to the public at the burgeoning downtown destination Sparkman Wharf.
