Ice Cream History
Thanks to President Reagan, we celebrate National Ice Cream Day every third Sunday in July. President Reagan wanted to commemorate a treat enjoyed by over 90 percent of the US population, so in 1984, he decreed a day for ice cream! In fact, Americans still lead the world when it comes to eating this frozen delight: 23 gallons a year to be precise.
Today we are celebrating with our Maud's Italian Affogato.
INGREDIENTS
- 1 capsule of Maud's Italian Esspresso or 1 pod of Maud's Espresso Yourself brewed strong
- 2 scoops of vanilla gelato or ice cream
- 1 splash sweetner of your choice
- Dark chocolate shaving (optional)
INSTRUCTIONS
-
Brew the espresso capsule or dark roast coffee pod
-
While the coffee brews, add in two scoops of ice cream to a chilled glass
- Pour the coffee over the ice cream, add in your desired sweetener, top with chocolate shavings and enjoy!
