Hey there! It's Alex from 4ocean and I’m trying something new today.
The crew has been absolutely crushing it and there’s been so much happening behind the scenes that I wanted to reach out personally and make sure you’re not missing any of the action.
I recently got back from a trip to Guatemala where I met with our local crews to figure out how we can stop posting viral videos like this:
This footage was captured near the mouth of the Rio Motagua, the 300-mile-long river that inspired us to expand to Guatemala.
We know this beach well because we’ve been cleaning it for the last two years. And the last time I saw it, it was almost pristine. What you see in that video is what it looks like now after just a week of heavy rain.
I can’t tell you how heavy it was to sit there and see miles and miles of coastline buried in plastic, to stand in a pile of plastic as high as my waist. Trips like these and seeing coastlines like this drive us to do what we do every day.
Don’t worry, though! We’re still out here working hard to clean this up, and we’re not going to stop until it looks like it did a year ago:
