CHRISTIAN SCHAUF ON RUCKING FOR LIFE:
|
|
|
"Last year, after returning to my house from a morning workout in the mountains, a visiting friend asked what I was training so hard for.
I just said ‘life’. He didn’t get it.
On the fun side, I want to be able to take on anything that comes my way, whether a hard hunt in the mountains, a long mountain bike ride, or helping my family make hay at our farm in Wisconsin.
On the more serious side, in an ever increasingly volatile world, I want to be ready for whatever emergency life throws my way, and not only be able to survive, but take care of my friends and family as well."

Meet Christian: Christian Schauf leads a life of adventure. Schauf has traveled the world with his band, recorded music with Prince, SCUBA dived with Richard Branson, conquered Ironman competitions, hunted the most remote corners of the planet, climbed some of the world’s tallest mountains, was awarded the Armed Forces Entertainer of the Year by the Pentagon, and has founded a series of successful companies.
The culmination of these life experiences taught Schauf the importance of being prepared for just about anything. Inspired to encourage people to be confident, level-headed and prepared for any adventure, natural disaster or unexpected emergency, Schauf founded Uncharted Supply Co.

WHAT CHRISTIAN IS TRAINING WITH: The Training Weight Vest
In the summer, I run mountain trails with 2 x 10lb plates. It helps me get my heart rate up a zone (or two) and build speed for hunting season. In the fall, I switch to heavier weight to prep for ski / snowmobile touring, which is a slower, steeper and more strength focused sport. I love the durability, the fit and the badass feeling passing people on the trail not carrying any weight. Uncharted Triage Kit - While I love rucking with weight, the triage was designed to be as lightweight as possible, while providing maximum coverage. 130 grams of first aid and gear repair for the most common things that happen while out on an adventure. I’ve saved my dog's life with it, and helped several friends and strangers out on the trail whether it be a heel blister, or a quick gear fix, to get them home in a safer manner. I never leave home without it.
