Yesterday I told you the 10-12oz tails and the 5-lb Jonah crab bags would both be gone by Wednesday.

Here are today's numbers:

10-12oz twin-pack tails: 43 left. Jonah crab claws, 5-lb bag: 31left.

Yesterday's math is holding. Wednesday is still the ceiling. If you've been waiting to "see" whether I was right before you ordered, this is the see.

Now — two things I didn't tell you yesterday...

The sleeper. We have 67 twin-packs of the 8-10oz tails sitting there. They are not in the top three. They are not on the front page of any email this week. They are also the cut I personally cook the most often, because two of them on a plate with butter and a starch is dinner for two adults without anyone needing a nap afterward. The Friday night idea. While we were focused on Sunday, somebody in the kitchen here pointed out that the best Mother's Day dinner in Maine is not on Sunday. It is on Friday, before the brunch crowds and the obligatory gift photos.

We have twin quarters of live Maine lobsters — two 1.2 to 1.4 lb lobsters, shipped live, arriving in time for a Friday night dinner that is its own moment instead of a warm-up to Sunday's.
