This class removes the mystery of longarm quilting by explaining machine and frame elements and features, how to load a quilt, and vital facts about thread, needles and tension. Handi Quilter longarm and frame systems come in various sizes for every budget, are user-friendly because they are designed by a quilter, for quilters – just like you!

About Gina Siembieda
HANDI QUILTER EDUCATOR
Gina started sewing at age 12 when her Grandmother gave her a sewing machine. It was love at first stitch and she has been sewing ever since. Her love of quilting was born in 1985 when she bought her first hand-quilted Amish quilt in Lancaster PA. Soon after, she joined a quilt guild, learned to quilt and began teaching others!
Having purchased her first longarm quilting machine in 2003, Gina has years of experience on a variety of different brands and sizes of machines; but Handi Quilter is her favorite. She has over twenty million stitches to show for it! She presently quilts with an HQ Infinity® with Pro-Stitcher®. She comes from a long line of teachers and teaches machine quilting on both longarm and domestic machines.
Gina has had quilts entered at Road to California, has received blue ribbons at county fairs and has been honored to be the featured quilter for one of her guild’s shows.

About Kimberly Sandberg
HANDI QUILTER EDUCATOR
In 2003, Kimberly attempted to quilt on her home machine for the first time and was hooked. From there, she graduated to a longarm in 2007. She became a professional longarm quilter in 2016. Using her HQ Avanté® with Pro-Stitcher®, she creates and quilts designs with precision and adds whimsical touches with free-motion quilting. Kimberly loves the process of choosing designs to complement and highlight patchwork piecing. Over the years, she has evolved from a very traditional quilter to a more modern quilter. She began teaching quilting classes several years ago, and loves passing on her passion and knowledge about quilting to her students. She has traveled all over the US teaching for Handi Quilter and is now very excited to spend her days in the Handi Quilter Studio.

The instructor will be bringing their expertise to Sewing Machines Plus for two-days of instruction on machines provided by us for the duration of the event. Create six beautiful projects while learning advanced tips and tricks on in-the-hoop projects with Anita Goodesign’s newest event!
LET'S GET STARTED:
Anita Goodesign is thinking inside the hoop with the newest class in our university line up, 501: In the Hoop! In this class you will be learning all about our innovative in the hoop techniques. As the name suggest, all of the projects are made easily in your hoop and create unique, fun, and useful projects.
Some of the topics we’ll discover together are how to construct freestanding items such as personalized tags, beautiful sun catchers, and decorative lace wreaths. Always on the go and need help getting organized? We’ll show you how to do just that with our lifestyle accessories like luggage tags, cardholders, keychain bags...and sew much more! That’s not all; we’ll look at how to take your tea towels to the top by incorporating several different finishing options like adding tassels, lace, and even dying them!
During the class you’ll get hands-on learning by one of our amazing educators. You’ll see how to incorporate your machine to really take your projects to the next level. Don’t worry, there won’t be a test during this university class – it’s sew much to learn! You’ll be stress free during the class because you’ll get a 3-ring binder filled with tons of information, detailed tutorials, and our exclusive tips & tricks to go home with. All of this education will be supported by beautiful designs on your USB stick so that you can create these projects anytime you like!
