Are you ready to start thinking about Fall knitting and crocheting? At KnitCrate, we wait all year for our favorite season to arrive in the Northern Hemisphere, and while it's always a bit warm for full wintery knitting at our Miami, Florida headquarters, we like to get in the seasonal spirit with a special event: our Sweater Make-a-Long! 

How to Play

It's simple to join in on this fun event, but there are a few rules to follow: 

• Projects cannot be started or cast on any earlier than September 1, 2019, and must be completely finished by January 1, 2020 to qualify for grand prizes. 
• All entered garments must be made for a living being. No doll sweaters, ornaments or toys, but sweaters for babies, children and pets count (if you are making for a pet, you'll be asked to take a photo of it on your pet.) 
• All entries must feature either a KnitCrate branded yarn (Knitologie, Uru.Yarn, Audine Wools, Vidalana, or La Brebis), or a yarn featured in a past Artisan Crate, Artisan Pop-Up, or Malabrigo Partner Crate. Only colorways featured in the crate or shop will qualify. 
• Projects entered must be primarily made with a qualifying yarn. For example, you can incorporate another non-qualifying yarn in your project, but most of the body must be made with a qualifying yarn. If doing a stranded project, the largest stranded area must be made with a qualifying yarn. If doing a striped project with two colors, one of the colors must be a qualifying yarn.

Swatch and plan or get ideas about patterns in our Ravelry thread or on Instagram leading up to September 1, 2019, the kick-off date for the event. On or after September 1, 2019, cast on your projects and share a photo with us in the Ravelry thread, or on Instagram with the hashtag #KnitCrateSweaterSeason. 

We've got some amazing prizes for participants and for those who complete garments, and we'll be pulling winners randomly during the entirety of the Make A Long! 

More Fun on the Way

In addition to all the fun of just participating, we're releasing several new sweater patterns this season with this Make A Long in mind! Throughout the next four months, we'll release knitting and crochet sweaters specifically designed to be great candidates for this event. Stay tuned for these special releases starting in September.
