NOTES FROM THE SMOKEHOUSE

This year marks SeaBear's 65th year in business. We're proud to say that we still craft our smoked salmon in small batches here in Anacortes, Washington—the heart of wild salmon country in the Pacific Northwest. All month long, we're sharing a little bit of our story. Stay tuned! We have some exciting things in store to celebrate.

It All Started With Local Fisherman Tom Savidge.

Tom sailed into Anacortes' Cap Sante marina aboard his fishing boat, The Messenger. Soon after, he poured cement over his wife Marie's tomato plants and built a backyard smokehouse. Tom perfected his recipe, and began selling his delicious smoked salmon to local taverns.
