I've been back in Costa Rica less than a year working on my house. I knew I had to deal with the termites but it was something I figured would take some fumigation and carpentry.

Well; I just got up in the attic, and saw the main beam is almost eaten through in a number of places, at least one of  the trusses is just hanging there... it was still up two days ago...

There's termites in the ground 30cm deep, in the surrounding trees and even creeping into my 40 foot steel container. I hear noises at night, I tell myself, they're just small supports... but I could be wrong, so this is a real emergency for me,

Those of us who might be neglectful in this, agree with my Father, Fuzzy Furlong, who said, 

"There's no sense looking up a dead horses ass just to see what he died from." So I want to finish this house... and live in it till I croak. We're going to steel, no more wood.

We're getting into the rainy season; We'll have to remove the roof, It will take a crew of men to get it done in a short period of time. Everything I own is under this roof. Carvings, photos ... my library, desk and Computer...I won't go on, don't want to beg, but if ever you wanted to help, now is the time.

Steel is cheaper than wood, and termites won't attack it. With steel, his house will be standing for my six year old  granddaughter when she's of age and I'm gone. 

I priced Materials (have a list if you like) in 4 commercial hardware stores. I picked the lest expensive and most reliable.

I've run jobs and projects all my life, and if I know anything at all, it will take longer and more money... but if it does go over, and I've got it. I'm still waiting for two more bids. If they're cheaper, and I think they will be, I'll post them when I have them. Tomorrow.

The extermination takes place in the morning. It's a major job, with underground nests and nests in trees. Time is important because of the rains and because this house is about to land on me if we don't get it done quick.
