Uhm, that wasn’t from us. That was a message from your car. But we miss you too =)
And after over a month of being in lockdown, I’m sure you miss it back because this pandemic has pulled us away from our dependable cars which gave us our freedom.
Remember when you had the freedom to go wherever you wanted and sing as loud as you could in the privacy and comfort of your own car?
Well, now it just sits in the driveway collecting bird poop while providing a home for spiders.
But cars are meant to be driven and if you don’t use it, you’ll lose it. By lose it, I mean your car’s dependability.
So here are 4 effective things you can do to maintain your car during this quarantine:
- Check your car batteries and start your car once a week if not your battery may drain and you’ll need to get a new one.
- Check your tire pressure. Your tires can lose air pressure without you noticing so use a tire gauge or use the air hose at the gas station. Check the Pounds per Square Inch (PSI). The proper PSI should be listed on the side of your tire (usually around the mid-’30s for most cars).
- Release the hand break every now and then because Parking brakes can corrode, weaken, and snap if not used.
- Wash your car. The acid in bird poop can eat through your car paint if you leave it on your car long enough. Plus it’s a good reason to get up from the couch every now and then.
Trust us once the Stay At Home orders are lifted, the first thing you’re going to want to do is to get as far away and as fast as possible so you’re going to need your car in perfect working conditions.
If you’re doing some more advanced maintenance to your car or even around the house, I hope you’re not doing it in pajamas or house slippers.
